In the midst of a fierce political war going on across the country, cats and dogs in Oakland, California are vying for president of a neighborhood. In Quarter 55, candidates for the presidency since late October focus on napping, cuddling and playing, rather than dividing the controversy. The 55th Street presidential race began with Wally, the current president’s cat, disapproved. Several other dogs and cats took this opportunity to compete.
