Husky is a medium-sized dog breed that originated in northeastern Sibir, Russia. The Husky is a very active breed due to their ancestors living in one of the coldest places in the world, like Siberia, where the original Husky was bred by the Chukchi people of Northeast Asia for the purpose of towing cart over long distances in extreme cold conditions. This breed was brought to Alaska during the gold mining period in Nome and then became popular in the United States and Canada. Husky was originally raised as a sled dog, but later became a family pet.
