Showtime recently announced the return date for the 11th and final season of Shameless. Although the series is still beloved and boasts a loyal fanbase, things have changed considerably since the ninth season aired. That’s because that string of episodes marked the end of Emmy Rossum’s stint on the show. Rossum’s portrayal of Fiona Gallagher had been the focal point of Shameless since day one. Her departure changed the game completely. No Fiona meant a whole new show, almost from top to bottom. In some ways, it actually managed to improve the series but in others, it had a negative impact on it.
