Sand cat (Felis margarita) or dune cat is a species of the genus Cat inhabiting the desert regions of Africa and Asia. They live in arid regions, even so arid that even the African wildcat cannot stand the Sahara, the Arabian deserts, the deserts of Iran, and Pakistan. Arabian sand cats are nocturnal and often stay in caves during the day to avoid harsh sunlight. Their fur is the same color as the sandy environment they live in, making the breed invisible and difficult to detect.
